History Board Supervisory Committee



Welcome to the Family Advantage Federal Credit Union - Family Advantage Federal Credit Union, formerly known as UAW Local 1853 Federal Credit Union, is located at 100 Stephen P. Yokich Parkway, Spring Hill, TN 37174. “Where Members Are Like Family”. We have employees who answer our phones, greet you when you enter the door and make you feel more than just a member-you’re an owner of this financial cooperative. No impersonal service, no mega-mergers here—just plain old fashioned, family friendly service.

The Family Advantage Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial institution that exist only to serve its members. Being a member of the credit union is the smart way to manage your finances. We have a complete line of financial products and services to meet your needs.

Our History

The Family Advantage Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1997 in Spring Hill, TN under the name “UAW Local 1853 Federal Credit Union”. The credit union was formed to serve the needs of all the team members, suppliers and retirees of Saturn. In October 2003, the Credit Union’s charter was changed to a community charter. The community charter opened doors to a field of membership who live, work, and worship, volunteer or attend school in businesses and other legal entities located in Maury or Williamson counties in Tennessee. Family members of those eligible for membership may also join the Credit Union and take advantage of the many services available.

Family Advantage Federal Credit Union is located in the heart of Spring Hill and less than two miles of the Saturn / General Motors Manufacturing Facility. We currently serve over 6500 members. Our Branch Office is located in the Parkway Plaza at 1511 Nashville Hwy, Suite D, Columbia, TN 38401.

NCUAThe Family Advantage Federal Credit Union is federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).

Board of Directors

The board of directors is elected by the membership. Board members serve on a voluntary basis and receive no compensation for their services. The board of directors are mainly responsible for writing policies, setting rates and establishing services for the betterment of the membership. The board of directors delegates the day to day operations, responsibilities and procedures to the Credit Union management team.

Supervisory Committee

The supervisory committee is charged with monitoring the overall operation of the Credit Union. It ensures the highest degree of safety and soundness and guarantees that the best interest of the total membership is sustained.
